For over two decades, Karan Chhabra has built a life around creating experiences that nurture people—first through world-class hospitality and travel, and now, through holistic wellness. His story weaves together leadership, creativity, and an enduring passion for human connection. A graduate in Hotel Management from the renowned Oberoi School of Hotel Management, and holding a Bachelor of Commerce with specialization in Marketing, Sales Promotion, and Public Relations, Karan began his professional journey in the global hospitality sector. Over 12 years, he mastered the art of service, leadership, and training—working across prestigious Indian and international hotel chains. His natural talent for design, decoration, and creative hospitality set him apart as a leader who could merge operational precision with emotional warmth. Evolving from hospitality into the travel sector, Karan spent over 11 years building a reputation as an expert in Tourism and Travel Management, specializing in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions), destination weddings, and curated group travel. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish the Ramayana Travel Group in 2017—now one of Bali’s leading B2B travel management brands, trusted by global partners for its authenticity, innovation, and personalized approach. In 2019, his commitment to conscious living inspired him to co-found Sattvik by Nature, Bali’s pioneering pure vegetarian Indian restaurant—a space where food, culture, and mindfulness meet. His ventures reflect a consistent philosophy: every business can be an act of wellness when rooted in integrity, care, and awareness. Karan’s own wellness journey deepened with his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training from Rehab Yoga School, New Delhi, and a Diploma in Ayurveda and Panchakarma Therapies from Rishikesh, India. A lifelong learner, he continues to study Vedic Astrology and Astro-Counselling, exploring the spiritual dimensions of human wellbeing. Certified as a Train-the-Trainer, he remains passionate about education, leadership development, and empowering teams through knowledge. In 2025, Karan founded Swatma Wellness in Ubud, Bali—a holistic sanctuary dedicated to restoring balance between body, mind, and soul. At Swatma, he brings together his extensive hospitality experience, global management expertise, and spiritual insights to craft immersive wellness experiences that are both luxurious and transformative. Karan envisions Swatma Wellness as more than an organization—it’s a philosophy. FOUNDER'S NOTE
Namaste.
When I first arrived in Bali, I was searching — not for a destination, but for a deeper connection to my own soul. Like many, I had been living in a way that looked full on the outside, but felt empty within. My body was tired, my mind restless, and my spirit… quiet. I had lost touch with the part of me that was once deeply alive — aware, intuitive, and aligned.
Bali held me in that space. It invited me to slow down, to listen, to feel. It reminded me that true healing doesn’t come from doing more — it comes from being present. From coming back into awareness of the body and mind, and from honouring the sacred connection between the two.
It was here, through my own journey of healing, that Swatma was born.
This is not just a retreat — it is a sanctuary for the soul. A space where ancient wisdom meets modern healing. Where yoga, Ayurveda, spiritual practice, and mindful living come together in service of one simple, powerful intention: to help you reconnect with yourself.
Our yoga practices are rooted in more than movement — they are meditative journeys that awaken breath, presence, and body awareness. Through every posture and pause, we invite you to drop beneath the surface and truly feel.
Swatma integrates the timeless teachings of Ayurveda to guide your experience — from nourishing meals tailored to support your diet, Smart vegetarian food is thoughtfully crafted to nourish both the body and mind, using vibrant plant-based ingredients that are rich in nutrients and flavour. It emphasizes mindful preparation, sustainability, and balance — turning each meal into a conscious act of wellness.
Healing here is holistic. We offer therapies that go beyond the physical — from energy work and sound healing to bodywork and breathwork. Each practice is offered not to “fix” you, but to remind you of the wholeness that’s already within. Our team is here to support you, but it is your own soul, your own body wisdom, that ultimately guides your healing.
And woven through everything is spiritual practice — not in any rigid form, but as a daily return to the sacred: morning silence, movement in rhythm with nature, intention-setting, and gratitude. These are the quiet rituals that ground us in something deeper than the external world.
To everyone who steps through our doors: thank you for choosing to listen to the call within. Your presence here is not just a visit — it’s a homecoming. A sacred pause. A beginning.
And to this island — Bali — thank you for holding me, teaching me, and inspiring me to build a space where others can reconnect, realign, and remember who they are.
Om shanti
